You’ve probably already read this, but I hadn’t, and it’s fascinating.

I’ve been lazy about updating my blog, largely because I feel like there’s a whole lot of work involved in maintaining a blog and a miniscule chance that I’m ever going to develop such a following that this’ll be a more productive use of my time than, say, actually working on producing new content! But that’s something of a copout in this day and age. Any journo worth his salt is working on self-promotion and the craft itself, at the same time. But what’s also made me uncomfortable in the past is that I do a lousy job of combining the blog’s narcissism with any blend of content that makes it more than an online resume, like what stories I’m reading, or random thoughts, or pictures of my nonexistent children. So I’m resolved to do a better job of that too. Here goes!
